Community Midwives

Sheena Sinclair-Brown is the surgery's named community midwife whose base is at St Peter's Hospital. She offers clinics at the surgery on a Tuesday morning at Sunny Meed for antenatal bookings and on a Friday morning at Goldsworth Park for antenatal clinics.

When she is not available at the surgeries she can be contacted on 01932 722413 and would like to see ladies who are pregnant ideally before they are 10-11 weeks pregnant.

She can arrange for ladies to be seen at alternative community clinics if required.

Community Nurses

The district nurses employed  by Virgin Healthcare, work very closely with the practice and are part of the primary healthcare team. Our surgery named District Nurse is Helen Harwood.

Their duties include visiting patients who are unable to attend the surgery in their own homes, giving practical assistance or offering professional advice. Each patient's needs are assessed and the care and treatment is planned accordingly. District nursing sisters are experienced registered general nurses with a certificate or diploma in district nursing.

We also have a Community Matron service that is accessed via the Bedser Hub.

 

Health Visitors

Our health visitor, employed by Virgin Healthcare, is available for advice on healthcare and health provision for all age groups and families in the community. They run child health clinics and give advice on healthcare to expectant mothers, small children, the elderly and the handicapped.
